Thank you so much for the opportunity to fellowship, serve and be encouraged by the HBC Community. It has been a privilege and a pleasure. Thank you for completing this brief survey.
We look forward to continuing to hold you all in prayer as we follow your progress in growing and developing as a discipleship modelling team.
Blessings – from Di and Phil

The initial information provided, lead me to believe that this was ground we had already travelled as a community and no positives seemed to flow previously. More individuals were engaged in the research by you did, as outside of the ‘problems’. More open discussion occurred with no repercussions.
Some people at HBC were hurt and disillusioned by the events associated with the Baptist Association and the former sr Ps B. Your work among us has taken the temperature and heat down. I commend you for your willingness to listen, your patience and forbearance and your humility. The process you have used in partnership with us has taken us on a learning journey and has definitely helped us to heal
We (the board) were late to the party as it were in terms of timing. But still you guys created opportunities in Phase 1 for people to talk when that was something they surely needed to do. Disappointing perhaps that more didn't avail themselves but excellent for those who did. I think it was hugely significant that you came from outside 'the system'. You were independent of HBC and the Baptist Association. The effectiveness of Phase 2 was always going to be attenuated by the lockdown but 'hats off' to you guys for making the most of the medium. A significant measure was the very rate of participation. That speaks volumes. I might have preferred a clearer end state and perhaps a more structured approach but these were outweighed I think by two things: first, good conversation amongst our leadership team around important issues related to our effectiveness; and some excellent tools to fall back on and to revisit.
In reality I didn't know what to expect from the consult. I was slightly disappointed with the BA involvement and assessment. I felt they were talking at the Church, but then left us 'up in the air'. Your involvement spoke with the Church and connected with everyone from leadership to the regular attendee (and even those who left)
Thanks so much for listening and pushing us forward. You provided the opportunity for all who wished, to be listened to and have hurt acknowledged but all within the framework of "pushing forward" to where God wants us. The workshops provided the opportunity to see how alike we are rather than the differences.
I think that it was as effective as possible given lockdown restrictions however it was impacted by those constraints.

What was effective about them?
Coaching was encouraging and helped identify my concerns. Workshops included more individuals and each felt safe to share.
I appreciated you use and application of the 4 quadrants Your encouraging the nominated leaders to open up and share was very helpful The reading material and the workshop exercises greatly assisted us to open up and be vulnerable with and toward each other
New approaches to old problems; empathetic listening; new insights; HBC talking amongst itself around key issues for moving forward.
The one-to-one session with me and Angela (the one at our place over dinner) was very pleasant and you seemed to understand how we felt following the unpleasantness of last year. I felt 'listened to', and if every other individual session was as successful, it was probably the most critical aspect of your ministry among us. I could attend only one of the family workshops (due work). I thought it was well structured and delivered. A reasonable roll up, but wished it had of been more, particularly among those who had left/considered leaving (complained the loudest). The coaching session with me and Angela (over zoom) was mostly encouraging, as we were both very invested in HBC operations. The content and delivery of the leadership team workshops was excellent, but probably the most important aspect was that assembling that group over several weeks created the 'team vibe', which I hope we can sustain. The lock-down restrictions worked in our favour - everyone was able to attend
Encouraged to hear all on the same page. To be pushed to look at myself and how I lead and what my expectations are around this. To have the leadership "together" focused in one direction over 4 weeks. To hear the language of "modelling discipleship" as we each learn and grow was wonderful.
I found the one to one session a helpful time. I felt listened to without judgement. Helpful in clarifying my thinking. I enjoyed the first church workshop as people seemed happy to engage. I did not attend the second workshop. I think that overall the leadership coaching provided hope for the future and a forum for people to get to know one another a bit better.
Thank you for being God’s love and acceptance in our space, helping us to see His love at work.
Encouraging the nominated leaders to individually seek out a mentor has been a helpful and encouraging process
A huge well done!
I would declare your ministry among us a success. As I mentioned before, you developed a 'team' ethos among the leadership group which I think will hold us in good stead moving forward. I think the emphasis on growing our personal relationship with God as the first priority was the correct approach. You made us look forward, and realise our strengths and blessings, acknowledging the hurt of the past but not being defined by it. Thank you for your love and time among us, its clear that God knew what we needed. We are a vine that had a pretty severe pruning, thank you for tend to us in preparation for the growth season ahead.
I have so much to learn around leadership, and you have given me some tools to be able to do this. I feel overwhelmed often with what part I can play in this space, but I feel better equipped to learn "how" now. In struggling in prayer this morning God brought Micah 6: 6-8 to mind. God already has shown us what He requires and you have gotten us focused in that direction.
I enjoyed the video clips selected and the fact that sessions were varied, interesting and relevant. I felt that the sessions worked better on zoom when broken into smaller sub groups. In the second leadership workshop it seemed heavy going. It is probably beneficial to start with prayer as well as to end with prayer. We did sometimes. I also think that as you reflected afterwards, you would recognise that your role was to facilitate and draw out not to get sidetracked ( only sometimes) into becoming a participant in an interesting discussion.. I think that any church community would benefit from having you help them to see their church culture with fresh eyes and to evaluate how they are doing on fulfilling their mission statement.
